Reuniting this Rubins had the potential becoming a great family drama/comedy through an interesting mix of figures. It has Timothy Spall at its lead as Lenny Rubin, the father of loved ones of misfits and Honor Blackman for the reason that matriarch of the loved ones, who emotionally blackmails her son into getting the family together for one particular last Seder night before she dies. The key to a film similar to this is getting the right mixture of comedy vs drama and also making the characters distinct but likeable. The main flaw from the film then is that not one of them seems to have virtually any redeeming qualities.
