My response remained the same as it has been for some time: It's hard to make a judgment without knowing the terms that have been exchanged. In full: Forte What we don't know is the exact value of what the Bears have offered, and what he's turned down. Has there been no agreement because the Bears haven't made him a serious offer? Or is it because he is seeking to be one of the top 23 highestpaid running backs in the game? We don't know that. I don't think Forte should be mad that the Bears have spent money on his backup unless they aren't offering him a fair deal. A fair deal, to me, would be something north of what the Seahawks paid Marshawn Lynch. We might not know those terms,Cheap Percy Harvin Jersey, but ESPN analyst Andrew Brandt offers a glimpse into what would be a fair agreement based on current precedent and the state of the market. Brandt: Assessing Peyton Mannings deal NFL Nation Blog ESPN The fiveyear, $96 million contract agreed to today between Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos is truly one that makes sense for both sides. It addresses the magnitude of the player that Manning is while also protecting the team with risk allocation because of Mannings preexisting injury. Lets take a look: ManningYear One Manning will make $18 million his jersey number regardless of injury. Simple. Years Two and Three: The physical and the waiver Not so simple. Manning will undergo what is termed a "postseason physical" 10 days before the start of the 2013 League Year, sometime in late February or early March. In the event Manning passes that physical, he will activate a $40 million guarantee, paid out as $20 million salaries in both 2013 and 2014. The Broncos will have further protection with an injury waiver to Mannings neck for these two years. In the event Manning suffers an injury that is related to his C6/C7 cervical spine fusion "and related pathologies," the Broncos will be able to reduce the guarantee for the following year. For example,Cheap St. Louis Rams Jerseys, were Manning to suffer an injury in Week 10 of 2013 related to his neck injury, the Broncos would pay the rest of the 2013 salary, but not be on the hook for 2014. Years Four and Five: Annual physicals and guarantee Manning is scheduled to make $19 million in both 2015 and 2016. Todd McShay's Giants draft 'scenarios' NFL Nation Blog ESPN We did this for the Dallas Cowboys on Wednesday,Cheap Jack Ham Jersey, and it only seems fair to keep it up for the other teams in our division (other than the Redskins, whose draft scenarios are too simple to warrant a whole post). Let's look at Todd McShay's latest mock draft and the various scenarios he lays out for the New York Giants with the 32nd pick. His No. 1 scenario for the Giants is that they take Ohio State tackle Mike Adams at No. 32. If he falls this far, Adams would be the perfect combination of value and positional need nearly an ideal pick for the Giants, who could start him at right tackle right away and possibly develop him into a left tackle if things don't work out with Will Beatty over there. Scenario No. 2 for the Giants, Todd says, would be to "take advantage of value and make a luxury pick for a player such as Stanford TE Coby Fleener or Nebraska OLB Lavonte David." This is a fun idea,Cheap Blaine Gabbert Jersey, and Super Bowl champions often do find themselves making "luxury picks" because they don't usually have many holes to fill. The Giants, at 97, had the worst regularseason record of any Super Bowl champion in history, so it's reasonable to assume they have more holes to fill than have most teams that have picked last in the first round. ESPNs Chris Mortensen reported several times during the draft that the NFL is expected to announce player discipline for the Saints bounty program this week. No firm date for the announcement has been mentioned, but its possible it could come as soon as Monday. The league first revealed its investigation of the bounty program on March 2 and announced more than a month ago that coach Sean Payton would serve a seasonlong suspension, general manager Mickey Loomis will be suspended for the first eight games of the season and assistant head coach Joe Vitt would be suspended for the first six games of the 2012 season. The Saints also were fined $500,Cheap Baltimore Ravens Jerseys,000 and were stripped of secondround draft picks this year and next. The Saints appealed all of their punishments,Cheap Mark Ingram Jersey, but NFL commissioner Roger Goodell upheld them.
