In this day in age, leg warmers have become more than a necessity-in fact, they are a key fashion item for the fall/winter months. However, in all honesty, they cannot be worn with literally everything. For example, they would just look absolutely wrong with basketball shorts and sweatpants (cropped sweatpants and yoga pants included). These can be worn with denim shorts and any shorts in the cotton family (no nylon, or rayon shorts for these please), however, working best with tights or leggings, as the bare-legged look for this kind of outfit could make the wearer seem weather-confused. Same applies for short skirts and dresses. While I do recommend leg warmers for the cropped jean/legging/khaki look, I recommend them only with boots that are at mid-calf or higher. The point of wearing leg warmers is not to fully expose the leg warmers themselves, but to keep legs warm along with their boots. However, the only types of jeans I would recommend wearing them with are skinny jeans and jeggings. With all these being said, here are some of THE best outfits to wear leg warmers with, depending on the wearer's preference: Dresses: Chiffon dresses, which are usually worn year-round, are an excellent balance for leg warmers. However, especially with sleeveless chiffon dresses, they would best be worn with a cropped jacket or cardigan, to create both a sense of balance and accordance with the weather. Even a light pullover sweater works with this. If you choose to wear a looser-fitting pullover with this, make sure it isn't too oversized, as you may become a bit too hot, and use warmers of thinner material. Knit/Sweater dresses: Sweater dresses are one of the most popular to wear with leg warmers, but again, balance is needed here too. Should your sweater dress be a bit bulkier, thinner leg warmers and leggings may be worn, but thicker warmers are recommended for the months that are even colder. For knit dresses, as many are thin in material, thicker warmers are best recommended. Some knit dresses can be worn bare-legged even, but with thinner warmers. Shorts/skirts In recent years, shorts, especially denim shorts, have made their way into all seasons of the year. Again, with shorter shorts, tight or loose, are not recommended to be worn with bare legs. Bermuda shorts work well for this look, but with a thicker, more opaque material. For shorts, best tops to work with are hoodies (not too oversized), button-down blouses (tucked in),fashionweek.antserve.com/wp, and short cardigans. You can go longer with the cardigans, but make sure you can tuck them into your shorts. Shirts with sleeves shorter than three-quarters would not work as well for this look, and the same goes for short skirts, regardless of material. T-shirts A simple T-shirt and leggings work well for this, but two factors are highly recommended: The shirt must cover at least half of the buttock area, and if short-sleeved, this works best with a long cardigan or jacket. A long-sleeve tee or tunic works well with this, too. In fact, to wear these with leggings, all types of shirts must cover at least the buttock area. Jeans Any shirt would work for the warmers if you are wearing jeans, but it is best you stay within the knit tops department.
